Windows XP Wireless

On a Windows XP computer, Right Click the icon (at the bottom right hand corner of your screen) for wireless connections, then select "View Available Wireless Networks"




Click "Change advanced settings"




1) Click "Wireless Networks" at the top

2)  Click the "Add..." button below "Preferred networks":





1) Next to "Network name (SSID): type in         school

2) Change "Network Authentication:" to   WPA2

3) Change "Data encryption:" to   AES

4) Click "Authentication"





1) Next to "EAP type:" choose "Protected EAP (PEAP)"

2) Click "Properties"




1) Uncheck "Validate server certificate"

2) Under "Select Authentication Method:" choose   "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)"

3) Click "Configure..."




Uncheck the box shown below




Click "OK" on any windows that remain open.

Click the icon for Wireless connections on the bottom right hand corner of your screen.




Enter the user name and password you use to log into the school computers.
Staff user names = FirstName.LastName
Student user names = LastName.FirstInitial+Last 4 digits of Permanent ID#

Leave "Login domain:"  empty

Click OK



You will now be connected to the wireless network, and your computer will automatically connect in the future without being required to log in again.
